Community Archives in ‘Time Out’

This article about the Wiener Library appeared in this week’s Time Out.

I was particularly interested to read about Director Ben Barkow’s personal experiences of working with very difficult material. The article also raises some interesting and pertinent issues about community control, access and the relationship to mainstream organisations (and in particular universities).

Time Out is clearly on the ball when it comes to community heritage organisations. A couple of months ago it published this review of rukus!’s ‘Outside Edge’ exhibition.
